I've had a slight delay in writing this next post because life has felt settled and not as noteworthy, which is a fantastic feeling, yes, but i was waiting for more things to happen to write about. then i remembered that my day to day may become regular to me,
but it's still new to those who are following along!
So on to the latest updates: i've been living in saigon, vietnam for about a month now. I've been slowly making connections with potential photography clients, continuing to find nonprofits to work with, building friendships with the people i met in my first two days in the country, and getting comfortable with the life i find myself in.
i've done a few photo shoots, met with an english language center about re-doing their website content, booked a french fitness blogger as an on-going client who needs monthly photo shoots to update her social media accounts with health and lifestyle posts, had a follow-up meeting with the heart nonprofit (we are in the process of confirming my part-time contract position with them), and had a few outings to take photos around saigon for my own personal website.
a fun thing that made me feel like a local was watching a football (soccer) championship that the vietnamese youth team played in. For a week, the u23 youth team played in the semi-finals against QATAR AND THEN IN THE FINALS AGAIN UZBEKISTAN. THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WAS SO PROUD AND FLAGS WERE EVERYWHERE WITH PEOPLE freaking out about how well their team, the underdogs, were doing! They lost in double overtime with thirty seconds left, but their effort was unbelievable and cheering them on was such fun!
Below are a few more photos from recent outings. I went to the zoo and botanical gardens, the ben thanh market, and just rode a motorbike around different parts of saigon with a fellow photographer. we would stop whenever we saw something that caught our eyes to snap a few photos. this country is crazy beautiful, and I am loving seeing it through my lens. 'til next time!
