I'm back!! This is the first time through all my years of traveling, working, and living abroad that I've gone back to a country that I already resided in (except for America, where I grew up and lived for most of my life). I was in Vietnam for over seven months from January to July 2018. Then I had a three month trip back to America to travel up and down the east coast between New York; Washington, DC; and North Carolina. I was a house and pet-sitter for numerous clients; I had a ton of photoshoots; and I had the opportunity to see friends and family, especially my itsy bitsy nieces and nephews. It was everything I wanted in a long visit! ...And then I was itching to get on a plane again! It was all perfect timing. Right when I was ready to get going, it was time to get going! I flew back to Vietnam on November 6th. After two days of seamless travel, I arrived very early in the morning to the airport in Ho Chi Minh City. Getting my visa and going through passport control took about 8 minutes total; shocked, I know. Plus, my luggage was already on the conveyor belt waiting for me. It was insane! I stayed the first week at my good friend's home with her and her family - thanks Roxy! And I immediately hit the ground running. I caught up with friends, started talking to clients about upcoming work, and had a few photoshoots right away. And after a week, I started housesitting and petsitting for another expat family. I'm adding to my repertoire of animals I can watch with their four little hamsters! Mama hamster is in the photo below, heehee. And it's been pretty non-stop since then! Below are some other photos from recent shoots including a newborn session; a 1st birthday celebration for a little princess; and interior shots of a friend's home. And now as the holiday season is quickly approaching, my photoshoots and personal life are going to definitely reflect that! I LOVE Christmas and this time of year. And not being with family is going to be hard. So I will be overcompensating big time by enjoying everything I can that has to do with the holidays. Meaning my photoshoots and mini sessions will totally have a Christmas-y theme to them! (Check out the photos from a family photoshoot I just did below. How stinking cute are they?!)
I can't wait! I'm booking photoshoots from now until mid-December, then teaching photography workshops to kids on holiday break, and then before I know it, it'll be 2019! It's going to be a busy rest of the year, and I am so extremely excited and grateful to be back in Vietnam. Stay tuned for more!! XO, Danielle Desnoyers Photography
